Me, one giant leap for Cambridge Consultants and the IDEC group. I want to express my excitement with joining Cambridge Consultants’ IDEC group in Boston, and being the first American to do so. While the group has existed in the UK for the decades, it only made the hop over the pond and into the Boston office earlier this year to join the existing medical technologies team on Atlantic Avenue as part of the company’s continuing expansion.
“But, Jeremy, what does IDEC do?” Well, let me tell you. It is probably helpful to first explain what IDEC stands for: Industrial, Defense, Energy, and Consumer Products, as these are the fields that this group caters to. The IDEC group in Boston has an initial focus on innovative consumer product development and industrial sensing solutions.
Well, where do I fit in this mix? I’m a mechanical engineer with a background in fluids and heat transfer, and spent the last four-plus years at Keurig Green Mountain developing the counter-top appliance known as Keurig Kold. Prior to my time at Keurig I worked on various projects in the automotive, defense, and energy fields, but have always had a strong interest in consumer products. After all, each one of us is in fact a consumer. I find it enjoyable to not only be designing a product for the client, but also for myself as a potential customer.
I’m delighted to be a part of this growing team! We’re recruiting heavily and looking for fun, bright, and curious mechanical engineers, system architects, software engineers, and physicists, as well as for a variety of individuals for our medical products team.
I look forward to helping grow the Cambridge Consultants brand along with the rest of the IDEC team. Cheers!
